My student recently showed me an ad for "Airborne", an effervescent tablet "developed by a teacher who was sick of catching colds in the classroom". The ad touts the "supplement" as providing the user with anti-oxidants, vitamin C and other herbs that will keep you from catching colds in public places like on planes, in classrooms and other places where you come in contact with large numbers of people. I say hmmmm. It's certainly not a bad idea to take herbs and vitamin C, but it's a better idea to WASH THOSE HANDS, FOLKS! I don't know what's going on in the USA at the moment, but over here, you see people just not washing up after leaving the latrine. BOY is that disgusting!!! You can search for the supplement at airbornehealth.com

If anyone tries it, let us know the results here!

I've used Airborne and it helps a lot. It tastes good and it helps me stay hydrated when I am sick. However, as you've said, the #1 thing people can do is wash their hands. Before eating, after going to the bathroom, and also after coming in from being outside.

Yup I've used Airborne and think it is effective too (get mine at Trader Joe's!).
