This is a thread where you can rank your top 3 places that you have been to.
Just rank them on terms of enjoyment. How much did you like them? How was the flight down? The whole package.
1) Disney World
2) Hilton Head Isle
3) Niagra Falls |

My top three cities changes, but right now they're:
1) San Francisco
San Francisco probably shouldn't count, because I live here, but I love it so much I have to count it. I came here as a visitor over 10 years ago, and fell in love with the place (well, there was a guy involved too, who I ended up marrying).
2) London
It's just impossible not to have a good time in London. My mother first took me there when I was 18 as my high school graduation present. I go back from time to time. There's a famous saying that when you're tired of London, you're tired of life, and I tend to agree!
3) This is a tough one. It used to be Barcelona. Then it became Tokyo. Now I'm thinking it's Hong Kong.
In terms of countries I'd like to go back to in general, I'd say:
1) New Zealand
Spent three weeks there last August and loved it. We were on the North Island most of the time, so we need to go back and really try to see the South Island.
2) China
I have a love/hate relationship with China. I find it endlessly fascinating and also not a little frustrating. I want/need to go back some more to get it sorted out :)
3) Japan
I've only been once, and that was just for a quick trip to Tokyo, so I'd really love to go back and see the countryside and other famous cities like Kyoto and Nara.
In terms of places I've never been:
1) Sri Lanka
My husband and I were supposed to go this winter, but didn't because of the tsunami. We're thinking of going next winter.
2) Namibia
I've watched waaaayyy too many Discovery Channel shows :) Namibia seems so fascinating, what with the world's oldest desert, really distinct dry and wet seasons, and incredible wildlife adapted to the extremes there. Maybe some winter after we get to Sri Lanka?
3) Wow, it's tough to pick. The world is such a big place and is so endlessly fascinating. There are places in the US I've never seen and need to get to -- Yellowstone, Grand Canyon. And then there's South America. I guess if I absolutely had to pick, I'd say Antarctica. And heck, it has the side effect of getting me to South America, too :) I'd just like to see the habitat of the Emperor penguins before it all melts away. |

| If you had only one day in Vancouver, what are the two or three things you would not miss doing? |

oh man, only one day!
well i usually go for longer but i went for two days last summer to see Radiohead and REM on the UBC Campus. We basically shopped Robson Street, went to Granville and had some great seafood and took a cool little boat around the harbour.... we went to the beach in kitsilano and also hit up the Vancouver aquarium which id never been to before. We bussed around the city and did just fine as we picked up a schedule and asked people where to go. Id definitely suggest experiencing some of the nightlife as well a funky art gallery or museum. The Capilano suspension bridge is pretty cool too as well as the chinese gardens. You can go on a nature hike or take the gondola up to grouse mountain i think thats 15 mins from Van. or how bout a carriage ride through Stanley park?
while i was there the Bard on the beach Shakespeare festival was on and at night there was some sort of ongoing fireworks competition being put on in the bay by different countries, it was pretty amazing :D
All of British columbia is absolutely breath taking in winter or summer... all of the little islands are super cool and great to explore by car or boat (my favs are Quadra island, Victoria, Bowen and Hornby, but there are many more! it can get expensive to take the ferries if you are driving though, its best to backpack across and walk on the boat) and the skiing is first class. i must say that they are also world renound for the mary jane as well  there is quite alot to do in Vancouver depending on what you enjoy. |

| That is a hard question to answer because I have loved every place I have ever been to. Maybe Czhesky Krumlov(Czech Repubic), Riga(Latvian capital). Would have to say Athens & Santorini in Greece tie for third and if there would be room for a couple more on the list I would add Kurashiki(Japan) and San Francisco. |

Yeah, it's a little silly, but it's a question game that I like to ask people. For instance, if I only had ONE afternoon in New York City, I'd go up to the top of the Empire State Building and then I'd go down to Greenwich Village to my favorite cafe' (La Lanterna, around the corner from the NYU library) for coffee and dessert. Ideally it would be a clear sunny day when you're at the Empire State Building, and foggy or rainy by the time you got to La Lanterna so you could sit by the fire. |

| If you were there right now, I'd suggest checking out the Christo project in Central Park. Huge orange gates with drapery creating a "golden river" flowing through the park if seen above. Wish I could be there to see it. |

| When I first saw the pictures it reminded me of the paths with tori (don't know if I spelled that right) over them in/around Ueno Park in Tokyo. My memory is hazy, but there was some temple there and as you approach it the path goes through all these saffron-colored gate-like structures. I really wonder if that's where Christo go the idea, from something like that. |

Top 3? Wow, that's hard...
Top 3 in the USA:
1. Hawaii (I was only there briefly for a conference a couple of years ago and would love to go back and see more)
2. Badlands, South Dakota (haven't been since 1994, but I just loved the Badlands; easily the most spiritual place I've ever been in the USA)
3. Hmmmm... I'd have to say NY City at the moment. I'm actually not a fan of bog citioes in general but, at the moment, I have so many friends in NYC that I'd love to visit if I had the chance)
Top 3 outside the USA:
1. The Greek Islands (haven't been since 1995 and its more than time to go back!)
2. Scnadinavia (I visitied Sweden in 1995 and was in Denmark a couple of years ago. but would love to go anywhere in Scandinavia if I had the chance)
3. Australia (I've always wanted to go but haven't had the chance yet... :() |
