|

My wife and I just returned from a 9 day, glorious trip to Costa Rica. The areas that we focused on were the Arenal Lake / Monteverde areas (for the rainforest/cloud forest scene) and then onto the pacific ocean around Jaco Beach and Manuel Antonio areas. We did everything from nature walks to canopy tours (zip lining over the rainforest) to white water rafting to horseback riding, etc, etc, etc. When we decided to go to Costa Rica I had no idea on how to go about booking it. I found out that there aren’t any U.S. based travel agents that handled that kind of package. So I did a crazy amount of internet research and ended up booking this package through a Costa Rican based tour company. They handled everything from hotels to transportation to day excursions, etc. We were incredibly please with these people – very professional, affordable, service oriented.
If anybody who reads this would like me to try and answer questions – or if you’d like some contact information for the tour company that we used – please feel free to email me at onehelluvaguy@hotmail.com and I’ll do all I can to help you. My wife and I are actually making plans to move down there full time in the next few years. What a difference a vacation can make! Take care and pura vida! Scott |

Wow, this is great ScooterMacG! 8)
Thanks for joining and offering to help. I could use a vacation myself. What would be the recommended budget for a 7 day trip? |

| I am going to Costa Rica to an all inclusive in a rural area in Guanacaste for 7 days on March 2... I am going by myself so that upped the prices, but I payed about 1500.00 Canadian with tax and insurance etc. I really hope everything goes ok because i spent all my money! Ive heard wonderful things about the culture and scenery, so I hope a young lone girl will fair well down there. I am also hoping to do that crazy zip line tour as ive heard many people say its amazingly fun! |

Welcome to the travel forums!
I think Costa Rica sounds great. I've heard of those zip line/ropes "canopy" tours. You get to "walk" through the rainforest canopy, and see butterflies, birds, etc. at their level -- way above the ground! Let us know what it was like and how it went! Have a good time!! |
