These are real places in Newfoundland! lol.

Oh yeah!

For those who don't know, there's also a college of some sort up near Weed. When you exit off the freeway, there used to be a sign that said:

Weed --->
<--- College

It got stolen and replaced so many times that the California Department of Transportation finally gave up and stopped replacing it because they were losing too much money.

Here's a cruel one-

Up in Nagano prefecture(ring a bell? winter olympics!), there is a train station in a remote part of the mountains. It is called "Oba-sute" which literally means "dump granny". The name refers back to the days where the old and feeble were too difficult to take care of and were taken off into the snowy mountians and left to die. :shock:

When my friend & I were up there several years ago exploring hot springs in the area, we passed this station several times, each time hollering "Throw Momma from the train!" :lol:

That reminded me of a bar I often go to. It consists of 2 floors, the upper floor is commonly used by people to smoke pot. Someone posted a sign up there that says, "Please keep off grass" lol

I recall many of the names from Harry Potter are the names of places or streets. Imagine having your city as a character in a book! :)
