(Well there isn't a section for this, but I guess Australasia kind of covers this place)
I've been looking at the Antartica tours for quite a while now. At the moment with $20K per trip it's beyond my budget, but I think as it becomes more popular, market supply/demand will reduce the price.
Would you be interested in taking a tour to Antartica? Or are you happy with Canada? :)
I think it could be interesting, if only to see an entire land mass made of ice. I've always wanted to go there since watching The Thing. |

Is that $20K Australian, or US? If you are content with only going as far as the Antarctic peninsula, you can do a 10-day trip for as little as $7200 AUS, including return airfare from Sydney to Ushuaia, Argentina.
If you want to do something more hardcore, like climb Mt. Vinson, then that runs about $37K AUS. If you want to join an expedition to the South Pole on skis, that will set you back about $50K AUS. |
