I took a vacation to California this past summer and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The weather was INCREDIBLE! Didn't rain once all week, the high was a steady 75-80 or so, with a nice breeze most of the time. For the most part, I remained in San Diego and the surrounding areas. The beaches were nice - very comfortable. Some were crowded, but it wasn't hard to find less populated beaches. One of the beaches had a lot of seaweed piled up on the shore, but it was no big deal. I also went to the ever-famous San Diego Zoo. Great zoo, lots of animals, some very entertaining shows. And if you're into the scenery and beautiful/unique locations, you have got to stop by Sunset Cliffs. These are very close to San Diego. They are cliffs on the beach that give off an orange'ish glow every evening at sunset. You can even jump off of them if you are the adventurous type. So, if you are in the area, check the sunset times, and stop by. I also went to the famous battleship, Midway. So if you're a history buff, that's something you might want to check out. It's right in the city of San Diego.
Here are a few pictures of my trip :D

and here they are - Sunset Cliffs (yes, I did play with the colors a little bit to liven up the picture)
