I don't know if you guys have taken notice, but Boeing is developing a new aircraft now dubbed the 787. It was given the name 7E7 during the development period. It was given this name despite speculation it would be named the 808. Some unique features regarding this plane.
-80% Composite = Lighter Airframe
-HUGE windows!! If you have seen the pictures you will be shocked. These windows are made possible by the composite structure of the plane. To put it in perspective, the 747 is about 35% composite.
- Wider aisle's and seats.
- Quieter Engines that can move this baby over 8,000 nautical miles.
List can go on and on, but those are the main points. You can get some more info on Boeing's site.
What are your guys thought on this plane? I am sure you know where I stand. :D

| It looks kind of like a flying bullet train. Or a dolphin. |

A plane with a foyer. I'm in love.
Still, the interiors all depend on what the airline buying the plane orders. Sure, the seats might look all "Star Trek Captain's Chair" and the interior might look roomy, but for all we know someone could order it with cheaper seats and more rows of seats (getting rid of the lovely foyer).
I'm looking forward to seeing one actually in service. It really really pretty, that's for sure. |
