Well looks like the Commonwealth Games in 2006 will be hosted in Melbourne! For those of you who don't know, the Commonwealth Games is essentially a "mini-Olympics" of sorts, where countries such as Australia, South Africa, Britain, and India will be taking part.
The games will be hosted around March 2006. Events include swimming, atheletics, boxing, squash, table tennis, and more.
Alternatively, if you're not so much into sport, there will also be the Commonwealth Games Cultural Festival, celebrating the cultures of the 71 countries involved in the games. Eventswill include music, theatre, street performances, exhibitions, and films.
If anyone is down in Australia in early 2006, come down to Melbourne to take a look! |
