Taveuni Island, and the SOMOSOMO strait in particular offers some of the best drift dives in the world. Drift diving means that as a result of current you end up a distance from where you started from, as the current sweeps you along. There are some fabulous dives here but because conditions are not always favourible for certain dices you have to allow a stay of about 10 days, to experience them all
The area is famous for soft coral, which is multi coloured, as well as the fact that the conditions are perfect for reef fish means that youencounter a wider range of fish than in vitullay any place outside of the red sea.
