My firts post in this travel forum and it will be a little introduction to my hometown Lillehammer - enjoy :)
Info about Lillehammer
Well known because of the Olympics in 1994, Lillehammer is a small town with a population of only 26,000 people. Lillehammer is surrounded by farms, forests and small settlements. The intimate and cosy main walking street, “Storgata”, has well preserved wooden buildings and is located in the heart of Lillehammer.
There is alot of activities you can do as a tourist in Lillehammer
- Winters
Lillehammer is known for some of the finest nordic skiing in Europe, with a giant trail system of about 400 km (250 miles). The Olympic Center, located near the center of town, offers skating, ski jumping and a small downhill run. Within a half hour of Lillehammer there are a number of alpine ski areas.
-Summer
There are a number of golf courses in the Lillehammer region, ranging from 18-hole championship golf courses to challenging 9-hole forest or mountain golf courses. There's also a 9-hole Pitch and Putt facility.
The summer life in the town is very nice , when the sun is shining people gather in the local park and just hang around in the park drinking beer and eating icecream.
- Nightlife
First of all the beer and food is expensive - you guys will get a shock!!
But the nightlife in Lillehammer isent that bad, its quite good as long as you`re over 20.. Then you will get into the best pubs and clubs..
There is not a very good offer for the 18-19 years old.
The most popular nightclub that 18-19`s used to hang out on is closed atm.
If you like rock,cheap beer and a good relaxed atmosphere Felix is the pub for you.
Felix is a well known pub in the norwegian rock community.. playing good old rock to new modern rock.
The people that hang on Felix are very nice - me included ;)
