Edradour distillery is the smallest distillery in the whole of Scotland and possibly the snallest in the world. Producing whisky is limited due to the size. Located in Pitlochry in Perthshire, this little distillery is much worth the visit. Entrance fees are free and there are guided tours every hour (if I recall correctly)...

The guide brings you around the distillery explaining to you the process of whisky production. You get to sample their whisky too...:) Edradour produces (in a year) what other bigger distilleries produce in a week. Therefore, their whisky is in limited supply and seldom seen outside of the UK. The practice of making whisky here has not changed since the Victorian days...

Nestled in the small town of Pitlochry, you shouls take the opportunity to visit the town too. Very picturesque and friendly community.

Is this a Speyside whisky? I'm a big fan of Islay single malts and am planning on making a trip to Scotland for the specific purpose of visiting distilleries! I was able to taste all the great single malts while in Edinburgh, but still want to see the distilleries!

Thanks! Very, very fortunately for me, single malts are big in Japan at the moment. The bars I go to have more amazing selections than anything I've seen in the US! Great selections of rare and very old whiskies and special distillers' blends. :D
