What can one say? Until you see it in person, it's impossible to imagine the sheer size of the thing. Even in person, it's hard to imagine how far down you are looking, until you see people at the bottom. Tiny little ant like people crawling around down there.

When I went it was fall and the North Rim was snowed in, so I only got to see the South Rim, but that was no problem. Plenty to see in one day, which was all we had. We walked the rim and checked out the lodge - all amazing. Finally we went to the Desert View Watchtower. Designed and built by architect Mary Colter, the tower provides an excellent view of the canyon as well as a history lesson of the area. Filled with artifacts and indian artwork, the tower was the highlight of the trip.

I'd like to know about other's experiences, especially the North Rim that I missed.
