| When I was snorkeling with giant seaturtles last September in a place that was only accessible by charter boat, you could hardly say everyone was there! Your hordes of tourists head for Oahu, namely teh popular Waikiki Beach on Honolulu for their R & R, thus the crowds. If you like romantic ROCKY seclusion, try Kona on the Big Island (There are also some great hiking courses and Volcanoes National Park, plus the largest telescope in the world at the observatory). If you like jungle trekking and beautiful beaches, head to Kauai. If you like snorkeling, surfing or swimming plus romantic villages tucked away on narrow, winding roads(plus volcanoes!), try Maui. The marine life offers species only seen in this area so is fascinating if you are into marine biology. Restaurants serve local fish (not the ones you see when snorkleing!) which is absolutely amazing! |
