Malaysia is a country that is much surrounded by the sea... That explains the beautiful beaches that they have...
If you are every in this multi-cultural and multi-lingual country, head east to the coasts of Kelantan, Trengganu and Pahang (all east coast states)... From the mainland, grab the many "ferries" or speed boat to the islands off the Peninsula...
Amongst the famous islands are:
1. Pulau Perhentian
2. Pulau Redang
3. Pulau Lang Tengah
4. Pulau Tioman
5. Pulau Aur
Yes, you guessed it right... Pulau means Island..:)
Activities that you can take part are:
1. Diving (divers, you'll never leave the island)
2. Snorkelling (for non-divers, duh)
3. Fishing (deep sea is best)
4. Squid jigging (seasonal)
Stays and activities are cheap as locals run these tourist business. You can get a 3days 2 nights stay + activities for under US$100 (ex-jetty)...
For all sun, sea & surf lovers, this is paradise... |

I've been to Pulau Lankauwi. Was quite nice, unfortunately it was almost completely empty when I was there !
But it meant reduced rates on the scuba diving. |
