ok.. i honestly dont know where to start because there are quite alot of areas of potential interest in this old land.. so i browsed a little and found a site that i think is relatively suitable for a decent overview without overcrowding with info.

hope readers would find it useful.. cheers!

Heya Sabor, welcome to the Travel Forums! :D

Thanks for the link too... definitely some useful information there.

As someone who lives there, where are your favorite places to go and what are your favorite things to do? Would you recommend different itineraries for those who can speak some Arabic vs. those who cannot? Where would you suggest going and what would you suggest doing to get the most authentic feel for life in Egypt?

Hmmm, I could go on forever () but will leave it at that before I scare you off for good...

I would like to get the scoop on Egypt, because I think it would be a very cool place to visit with a lot to offer both culturally & historically. I haven't heard many good things, but I can base that on the fact that most of the people I know went on package tours. (groan) Hear from the real travelers that the tourist traps are just that, but if you venture off the unbeaten paths, which does take some courage & research, you can have a mighty good experience. SABOR- which cities, hotels, souqs do you recommend? Also, which season is the best for travel?
