:D Hello all.

I see that I have found the right place to get some of my question answered.cocodrilo thanks for the details I have noted them down on my to do list. I am just wondering about the area to stay in. I don't want to be a bus ride away from the action, but I dont want to be staying above an all night rave club either,so any ideas or street names that have 2 to 3 start hotels on would be most welcome.

I am also big into military history and I am just wondering if thye have any mueseums on this subject. Also is Macua worth the visit and is it easy to get to the this island.

I will also be going to Vietnam so if you have any thoughts please let ne know.
Keep safe

Cheers folks

I don't know what your requirements or budget are, but I was looking for a decent business-type hotel the last time I was there and stayed at the Rosewood on the Park. It's on Victoria Park, and right near an MTR station so you can easily get around Hong Kong.

There are much much less expensive hostel-type places to stay in Kowloon. Again, if you're close to an MTR station then it's really easy to get around.

Howdy
Thanks for that, I will be travelling around for four weeks, so value for money is very important. I am looking at 2 to 3 star I have found a few in the Kowloon.I was just wondering if this area is rough,or if it is ok to stay .Being close to a MTR station sounds a very smart idea, I will change my search pattern to incorperate this in.

Bye for now :D

Unfortunately for Hong Kong, you're going to have to shell out some cash if you want to stay at a decent place. It's not like Vietnam where you can get a great room at a boutique hotel for $20 or $30 per night, wiht breakfast. I've been to HK 10 times and always stay in Tsim Sha Tsui, near the action and shopping, Nathan Road and all that. I've stayed at the Park Hotel, Ramada, Kowloon Hotel etc and the Park probably had the best value considering the great location. You're probably looking at $80 a night, though. If you really need to cut costs, Chun King Mansions offers budget backpacker accomo. Ask to see rooms first. Some are amazingly clean and some have 6-legged friends. (average under $25 a night)

For hotel, you can stay in a 2 star hotel in Kowloon side in Jordan called "Best Hotel", price is reasonable in HK, around $40-50 per nite, and its location is very good to go everywhere.

Also, if you are interested in military history, you can go to Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence & Police Museum. For more detail, you can visit http://travelslog.com/hk/Cultural_Tour

Hope this can help you!!
