I wanted to know everyones opinion of what they think is the best time to travel and why. I of course will go first I love the fall! I think its the best because its not too hot or too cold. Dont have to worry about weather other than rain. Seems to be the safest time to travel as well. _________________ - Ryan - |

From my limited travel experience, I would say I like early Summer in Maine and mid January at Miami Beach.
Basically, I live to go where it's warmer in the Winter, and where it's cooler in the Summer. |

Well, aside from this general idea, there's also the issue of contrasting hemispheres... winter in the U.S. is summer in Oz, etc. I'd also say that there is no "ideal" time as it depends on what you want and what you can afford. Off peak times can offer advantages of lower fares and rates as well as less crowding by fellow tourists... but, as mentioned elsewhere, I personally *hate* the cold... yuck! Also keep in mind that various times of year go hand in hand with various travel worthy phenomenoa... fall foliage, spring flowers, etc. |

| Depends entirely on the purpose of your trip. I ski in February, I go to the beaches in September. I pick the low-season if possible as to avoid throngs of tourists. I love photography, and there is nothing more frustrating than dealing with buses full of tourists in July & August if you are at a popular tourist spot. Also hotels are more readily available and rates are usually lower. |

I would say Fall is my preference. Really only because I live in Florida and the heat is awful in Summer. I prefer Fall. Not too hot or cold to the point where you can't enjoy yourself. |
